There are several providers in the salon hair care category in Evanston but they are largely of two types: 

• Low-end, and
• Upscale.

Low-end salons only provide minimum services, whereas upscale salons can be inconvenient due to scheduling requirements and prohibitive prices.

The owner of Studio SLK, Sandy Lewis-Kadiri, perceives an unfulfilled customer need for a high-end salon that caters primarily to multicultural women where professional hair services, exquisite customer care and flexibility are provided at affordable prices.

Services will include haircuts, permanents, relaxer, hair coloring, manicure, and pedicure. Shampoos will be offered with all hair services.

Studio SLK  opens in March 2012.
